The Chess Clock
Our broadcasting chess clock is based on the ChessTimer Silver (plus) bye Euro Chess International ECI, which has been successfully audited by FIDE and is fully approved for professional chess tournaments.
The interface to the chess board is handled via a 4-wire (telephone) cable, connected through a RJ-9 plug to board and chess clock. As the power for the board is supplied through the chess clock, any operation of the board requires an appropriate chess clock as well.
The clock contains four AA NiMH accumulators (1.2V). For typical batteries of 2000-2500mAh, the entire system (clock+board) can be operated as long as several hundred hours. So no battery change during a tournament is required.
